Summary
World Compassion Terry Law Ministries (WCTLM) is a non-denominational, faith-based international organization. It was founded by Dr. Terry Law in 1969 to assist churches in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of people in their communities. Dr. Law feels strongly that the calling of the organization is to areas of the earth where most men fear going due to political, religious and/or economic instability.
Compassion ministry may be different in each environment, but the goal is the same. Reaching people in their most desperate point of need. Whether it is raising an abandoned child or providing ongoing food aid for refugee families, meeting people's immediate needs is an important step in letting people know God loves them.
As relationships are established, often through compassion based ministries, the indigenous churches we partner with have the opportunity to present the gospel. We do this through a variety of ways including spoken messages, one on one conversations, and the distribution of Christian literature.
We equip indigenous churches to make disciples and train leaders by providing our ABC Discipleship and Leadership course as well as our Mission's Training program in Asia. In addition we host leadership conferences throughout the year in target nations in the Middle East and Asia.
We partner closely with local churches to help train, strategize and resource local Christians to plant churches in their country. They begin impacting their community and multiplying disciples by replicating this Biblical model of ministry in their new environment. (Outreach, Evangelism, Discipleship, Church Planting)

Purpose
WCTLM adheres to eight core values. These core values are the essential standards that direct World Compassion's ministry deeds. The core values are their reason for existence and each member strives to achieve them in their personal as well as professional lives.
- We are Christian.
- We are committed to people in need.
- We value relationships.
- We are trustworthy stewards of God's resources.
- We work in cooperation with other organizations.
- We are quick to respond to a need.
- We value a single life coming to faith whether through evangelism or humanitarian efforts.
- We must share God's concern for justice and reconciliation and for the liberation of men, women and children from every kind of oppression.
- We adhere to Romans 15:20-21 which says, "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. Rather, as it is written: 'Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand."
Mission statement
World Compassion takes the message of Jesus Christ to nations that are hostile to the Gospel by empowering local bodies of believers to support the spiritual and physical transformation of lives.
Statement of faith
The Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
For the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Founder, Dr. Terry Law was a signatory to the Lausanne Covenant created by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelism, and World Compassion subscribes to the covenant.

History
World Compassion was founded by Dr. Terry Law. In 1969, upon graduating from Oral Roberts University, Terry co-founded Living Sound International, a music group that led hundreds of young people to minister in more than 40 countries. This led to his over 50-year journey of ministry to become one of the most influential mission voices to nations hostile to the Gospel.
This journey took him to places like Russia, China, North Korea, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq. His compassion evangelism model of ministry has shaped World Compassion's mission that stands to this day - transforming lives by meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of people.
Terry authored several books including The Fight of Every Believer, The Truth About Angels, How to Enter The Presence of God, The Power of Praise and Worship, and The Hope Habit. The booklet The Story of Jesus has been translated into more than 52 languages with an estimated 27 million copies distributed worldwide.
Terry Law went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2020. We celebrate Terry's life and purpose by carrying on his legacy to reach nations that are hostile to the Gospel and taking new ground for the Kingdom of God.
