Mission statement
The heart and mission of Yamhill County Gospel Rescue Mission is to provide food, shelter, and hope through the love of Jesus Christ.
Statement of faith
Bible - We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God.
(1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21).
Trinity - We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4, 2 Cor 13:14)
Jesus Christ - We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1-2; Luke 1:35; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 1:3-5).
Salvation - We believe that people are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people.
(Rom. 8:1, 38, 39; John 10:27-30; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; Phil. 1:6; 2 Tim. 1:12, Eph 1:3-8, 2 Thes 2:13, 1 Pet 1:3-5, 1 Cor 6:19-20, 1 Pet 1:18-19).
Holy Spirit - We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live the Godly life of obedience as he reaches for maturity. (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:13-14, 5:18-20, 1 Cor 6:19-20, Rom 8, Titus 3:5).
Eternal Life - We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - those who are saved to the resurrection of eternal life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of eternal punishment. (John 5:24-29; John 3:14-17; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-13; John 11:24-26; John 17:1-3; Matthew 13:40-43; Matthew 25:41-46).
Church Body - We believe the Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one Body, the Church and the evidence of that spiritual unity is shown by our love for one another. We believe each individual believer is uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit with divine abilities necessary for the growth and edification of the Body as a whole. (1 Cor 12, Eph. 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 4:11-16, 5:25-27; John 13:34-35;1 John 3:14-18).

History
The Mission initially began as the Yamhill County Bed & Bread Outreach in 2003. After a few employees of the 911 center saw a need to help the homeless get off the street, they began to pray for the Lord's direction on how to help.
Members of the outreach began going to various camps in Yamhill County sharing the Word of God, praying with individuals, and meeting needs physically and spiritually. A lunch along with a Bible study was provided in a McMinnville park every Saturday and Thursday to feed the hungry and share the Gospel.
After seeing what the Lord was accomplishing in the lives of men, women, and families, donors began helping financially. As the winters grew cold, the community saw a need for a cold weather shelter and an organization to run it. The Seventh Day Adventist offered their building on Logan Street to be used for that purpose and YCGRM took on the challenge. The shelter then transitioned into a full time Gospel Rescue Mission and after a couple of years, The Mission was able to purchase the building.
From the very beginning, God has been confirming His will for The Mission and continues guiding the Mission through His grace.
