Purpose
From Globe's earliest days, our purpose was summarized with these words: "Globe is called to assist those who have a God-given vision to implement that vision." Globe's founding Director, Bob Bishop, had a passion to release missionaries to their God-given calling. For over forty years Globe has empowered His people to take the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to the nations! Today, Globe is known for its commitment to the centrality of the Gospel, its priority to train, send, and serve God's Great Commission people, its flexibility in the implementation of ministry, its excellence in management and administration, and its commitment to integrity in personal and ministry life.
Mission statement
Globe International was founded to equip and assist those who are gifted by God for global ministry to fulfill their call.
Statement of faith
At Globe International, we believe that every word of the Bible is true and without error. With this belief as our At Globe International, we believe that every word of the Bible is true and without error. With this belief as our foundation, we know that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God who gave His life at Calvary for the sins of the world. But death did not defeat Him-He rose again three days later victorious over sin, death, and the grave.
Jesus then gave the commission to reach the world with His Gospel-the only way of salvation for mankind. We know that we have a secure home in heaven if we choose to accept Him. But those who refuse will be eternally lost.
As followers of Jesus, we strive to grow in our faith, study God's Word, and be more like Jesus Christ and honor Him in every area of our lives.
We believe that the Gospel of Jesus is a final directive that has guided His Church ever since. At Globe, it is our desire to follow His Commission by spreading His Message to all nations until He returns.
Globe's complete theological statement ascribes to the Statement of Faith as reflected in the Lausanne Covenant of 1974. https://www.lausanne.org/content/covenant/lausanne-covenant#cov

History
"To assist those who have a God-given vision to implement that vision." These words from J. Robert Bishop, Globe International's first Director from 1976 to 2001, not only reflect Globe's call to Kingdom service, but also our daily directive in helping others to achieve success in their purpose.
In the early 1970s, Globe was founded by a young Baptist pastor, Ken Sumrall. Pastor Sumrall attended a missionary conference where, in his words God touched him, "like liquid love for people all over the world." Pastor Sumrall determined his church would be a "sending church" that would send missionaries to the nations. Soon after, he founded Globe International (first called Globe Missionary Evangelism) and appointed the church's administrative pastor, J. Robert (Bob) Bishop, to be the founding Director. The goal was to raise up and send missionaries to the nations. Bob served Globe until 2001 and then asked Doug Gehman to take his place at the helm.
Globe's vision continues... now serving the Body of Christ around the world to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and take the gospel across cultural boundaries to unreached people by encouraging them to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. With God's leading, we want to empower disciples to plant churches that will continue to grow and multiply on their own.
