Purpose

Vision: American Heritage Girls is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement.

Our forward-focused program emphasizes six key components to achieve the mission of building women of integrity known as the AHG Program Emphases which includes programming, experiences, and resources for every age level. Girls who complete the program will be Christ-following servant leaders who are honoring, relational, anchored in Christ, and competent. AHG's family-friendly, multi-level Troop structure is specifically created with the physical, mental, social, spiritual, and emotional needs of today's girls aged 5 to 18.

Mission statement

Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.

Statement of faith

American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered leadership and character development ministry. The following Statement of Faith applies to all American Heritage Girls' Charter Organizations and Adult Members.

"We believe that there is one Triune God-Father; Jesus Christ, His one and only Son; and the Holy Spirit-Creator of the universe and eternally existent. We believe the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe each person is created in His image for the purpose of communing with and worshipping God. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who enables us to live godly lives. We believe that each individual is called to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength; and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We believe God calls us to lives of purity, service, stewardship, and integrity."

History

In 1995, American Heritage Girls was founded by a group of parents that desired a faith-based, character development program to guide their daughters as women of God and integrity. AHG was created with the love of God through the love of families for the love of children. Since its start in 1995 in West Chester, Ohio, AHG has grown from 10 Troops and 100 Members to over 70,000 members across 6 countries and 50 states.

Program accomplishments

Today there are Troops in every state and in 6 countries around the world through the Trailblazer Program. A variety of Christian denominations are also represented as Charter Organizations for Troops. There are thousands of volunteer members across the country helping girls to grow in their faith, cultivate a heart for service, enjoy the great outdoors, and have more fun than they can imagine!

Needs

With your support, AHG can continue its mission to build women of integrity, introduce the ministry to more churches and schools nationwide, and in turn, grow the kingdom of God. There is a great need in our world for AHG in a time such as this. Join in supporting AHG, the premier character and girl leadership development program for girls that embraces Christian values and encourages every young woman to grow into the leader God created her to be.
