Purpose

Mission statement

The Mission of Cornerstone Christian Academy is to provide quality education based on God's truth, resulting in Christ-like students who will impact their world for the glory of God.

Statement of faith

We believe that there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible obedience, honor, confidence, and love; and that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Verses: Exodus 20:2-3; I Corinthians 8:6; I John 5:7; Revelation 4:11
We believe that the original autographs of the Scriptures (comprised of the Old and New Testaments) were verbally inspired by God the Holy Spirit and were the product of Spirit-led men. We believe that Scripture, having been given by divine inspiration, is infallible and without error. We believe the Bible to be the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.
Verses: I Thessalonians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He freely took upon Himself the nature of man, yet without sin, and by His death made a full and vicarious sacrifice for the sins of all mankind.
Verses: Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; John 1:4-18
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal to God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature; that He was active in the Creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God's purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin and directs in righteousness; that He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the new birth; and that He seals, empowers, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, comforts, and helps the believer.
Verses: Matthew 28:19; Luke 1:35; John 14:16-17, 14:26; Romans 8:14, 8:26-27; Ephesians 1:13-14; Hebrews 9:14
We believe that man came by direct creation of God and was created in the image of God; that he sinned, thereby incurring not only physical but spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.
Verses: Genesis 1 & 2, 3:1-6; 3:24; John 1:3; Romans 1:18 & 32; Romans 3:23, 5:10-19; Colossians 1:16-17
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a blameless representative and perfect substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him and confess Him as Savior and Lord are justified on the basis of His shed blood. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His presence there as High Priest and Advocate for all believers.
Verses: John 3:16, 20:1; Romans 3:24-25, 10:9-10; I Corinthians 15:1-6; II Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 2:14 & 17, 4:15-16, 7:25, 10:1-18
We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life. We believe that justification is the great gospel blessing that Christ secures to those who believe in Him; that justification includes the forgiveness of sin, the gift of eternal life, and the imputation (accrediting) of Christ's righteousness to the believer; and that it is not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Verses: John 3:3, 10:28-30; Acts 16:31; Romans 5:1 & 9, 6:23, 8:1; II Corinthians 5:17-19; Ephesians 2:1, 8-9; Colossians 2:13; Titus 3:5-7; I Peter 1:18-19
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust; the everlasting joy of the saved in heaven; and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell.
Verses: Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 6:23; II Corinthians 5:8; Revelation 20:11-15, 21
We believe in the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Verses: John 14:31; I Corinthians 15:50-58; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-21
We believe that a local church is comprised of believers associated with the same faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. We believe that the mission of the church is to preach the gospel to all nations, teaching them to obey all things which Christ has commanded.
Verses: Matthew 18:18-20; Acts 2:38-42,15:13-18, 20:17-28; I Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:11-13, 5:23-24; Colossians 1:18
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment to execute justice and for the interests and good order of human society; and that government leaders are to be prayed for and conscientiously honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Verses: Acts 4:18-20; 5:29; Romans 13:1-7; I Timothy 2:1-2; I Peter 2:13-17
We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, and that he, his angels, and all who do not receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.
Verses: Isaiah 14:12-16; Matthew 4:1-3; II Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 6:12; Revelation 20:10
