Summary
Jesus calls us to reach India with the gospel. IGO, an indigenous Indian ministry, serves as an important link between western and Indian Christians.
Today, few of India's 3,000 ethnic groups have a growing church. IGO takes the Good News to those who do not. More than 1.35 billion people live in India. India is the world's largest Hindu nation, the second largest Muslim nation, and the home of Buddhism and Sikhism.
God is at work in India today. Jesus Christ loves India. Our Lord commands us to, "Go and make disciples of all nations." "All peoples"-tribes, castes, and ethnic groups. India alone has more than 3,000 of them, more than any other country in the world.
IGO believes God has given us the mandate to fulfill the Great Commission, and we share today's opportunities in India to proclaim the gospel to their people. We seek to fulfill this mandate in a manner that honors the Lord in all seasons.

Statement of faith
We believe the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, in His miracles, His vicarious atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His visible personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live an empowered and fruitful life according to God's calling.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe that Christ's command to the Church to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, baptizing and teaching those who believe.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We also subscribe to the Lausanne Covenant.

History
In 1984, Rev. T. Valson Abraham founded India Gospel Outreach (IGO) to inform Christians around the world of needs and opportunities among India's unreached peoples. IGO's roots go back to 1923 when Pastor K.E. Abraham (grandfather of Valson Abraham) began training Indian cross-cultural evangelists in a teaching ministry that grew into India Bible College, which helped to produce India's largest indigenous ministry.
IGO's main training center is Inda Bible College (IBC) & Seminary (http://www.ibc.ac.in/) in Kerala, India. India Bible College & Seminary is a unique school whose sole purpose is to train and send Indian cross-cultural evangelists and church planters to unreached places.
Because of India's great size and diversity in language and culture, IGO has helped found and sponsor eleven Bible training centers thoughout India, and five Bible Colleges, beginning in 1988. They adapt the philosophy and program of IBC to local conditions. IGO plans to open a training center in every India state as God provides the resources.
Program accomplishments
Over 15,000 churches planted.
