Purpose
We educate and legislate those ideas that have allowed the modern world to progress. We defend individual rights and freedoms and fight for a world free from illiberalism and oppressive practices, including female genital mutilation, honor violence, child and forced marriage, and the suppression of free speech and inquiry. We fight against political Islamism and its manifestations, including antisemitism.
Mission statement
Our work focuses on confronting harmful practices, ideologies, and policies that undermine the values of a free and just society.

History
Our founder, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, began her journey in Somalia, where she was subjected to female genital mutilation (FGM) as a young girl. From an early age, she questioned the subjugation of women and risked her life to oppose the oppression she encountered and witnessed around her. Throughout her life, she has remained a steadfast voice of courage, challenging those who sought to intimidate and silence her. Inspired by her lived experiences, she advocates for those who cannot speak for themselves. Today, Ayaan is globally recognized as a women's rights activist, a champion of Liberal values, and a best-selling author.
Ayaan has connected her life experiences and the attention she garnered to AHA Foundation, which she founded in 2007 to put her ideas into action. By creating AHA Foundation, she set out to preserve, protect, and promote Liberal values, which has been a consistent thread in all of her work to this day.
