Mission statement

GO Ministries empowers local leaders to make disciples as God redeems people, renews communities and restores creation through mutual transformation.

Statement of faith

God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost. (Matthew 3:16-17; 1 John 5:7-8)

Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ (the Son of God) became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the promised Savior to the lost. He, being fully God and fully man, is the only person to have lived a sinless life. (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14; I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15)

Salvation
We believe that the blood shed of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for their sin. (Luke 24:46-47; John 1:29; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:7-9; Revelation 5:9)

Humanity
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 3:23)

Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit took residence within those who placed their trust in Jesus Christ after he ascended into heaven, and the same is true today. The Holy Spirit is evident and active throughout the entire Bible, but the indwelling of the Spirit in the life of a believer began after Jesus' ascension. The Holy Spirit's purpose is to edify and empower the individual believer and church. The Holy Spirit is alive and active today, as well as the gifts of the Spirit chronicled in the New Testament. (Acts 1:5, 8; Ephesians 3:16)

Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and everyday yielding to the Spirit, every believer should mature and become conformed to the image of Christ. (Matthew 16:24; John 14:23; Galatians 5:25; II Corinthians 3:18; I Thessalonians 4:3)

The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world. (I Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 1:22-23, 3:10-11)

The Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. It is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that all may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

History

In June of 1991, Brook returned to the island after many trips to Haiti, but this time he traveled to the Dominican Republic. There he met the Gabriel family and saw their passion for God and ministry. Brook believed God was calling him to empower local leaders, and it was at that point the concept of GO Ministries was established.
Though the ministry was growing long before incorporation, GO Ministries officially incorporated in 1996 in Illinois.
1999: GO Ministries relocated its headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky.
On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated our brothers and sisters in Haiti and strengthened our commitment to serving the island of Hispaniola.
2013: GO Ministries purchased land for the Leadership Development Complex.
2018: GO Ministries opened the Medical Center in the community of Hoya del Caimito, where GO Ministries was born.
