Purpose

Fredericksburg Christian School partners with Christian families to develop each child's potential through age-appropriate academics, enrichment activities, leadership opportunities, and service both on campus and in our community.

Mission statement

Our purpose is to glorify God by educating with excellence.

Statement of faith

Fredericksburg Christian School believes the following truths are central to a college-preparatory Christian education, and it is the school's desire to bring them alive in its entire program.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1; Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:19; John 14:26; II Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6)

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through Adam's sin became alienated from God, acquired a sin nature, and came under the judicial sentence of death. As a consequence, man is lost, unable to save himself from the wrath of God, and needs to be saved. (Gen 1-2; John 3:16-18; John 5:28-29; Rom. 3:23; Rom 8:19-22)

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, sinless and perfect, the only Savior. We believe that He carried our sins in His body on the cross, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is now at the right hand of God, mediating for us. We believe in the personal and physical return of Christ in power and glory. (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:19-24; Matt. 25:41; Matt. 28:5-6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:6-7; John 5:28-29; John 10:30; John 11:25-26; Rom. 6:5; I Cor. 15:3-4, 35-58)

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, sovereignly offered by grace to those who repent and place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and that all who truly believe in Him are eternally saved on the basis of His shed blood. (John 3:16-18; Rom. 6:23; Rom. 8:31-34; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8-9; James 2:14-17; I Pet. 3:18)

We believe in God the Holy Spirit who indwells all believers to convict, enlighten, sanctify, empower, and guide them in life and service. (Mark 1:10-11; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; Eph. 1:13-14)

We believe that the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and the New Testaments, are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error in the original manuscripts, infallible, authoritative in all matters of faith and practice, and true in all they affirm. (Deut. 18:18; Jer. 1:9; Prov. 30:5; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21)

We believe that the true Church is composed of persons who, by grace through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is Head. (Matt. 16:18; John 4:23; John 17:21-23; Acts 9:31; Rom. 12:4-5; Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 3:20-21; Eph. 4:11-13, 16; Heb. 10:25)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto eternal life with God, and they that are lost unto eternal punishment separated from God. (Matt. 18:6-9; Matt. 25:31-46; Mark 9:42-48; John 11:25-26; Rom 6:5; I Cor. 15:21; I Thes. 4:14-18; Phil 3:10; I Pet. 4:5; Rev. 20:10)

We believe that Christ commanded the church to make disciples of all peoples, by going into all the world, baptizing people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that Christ commanded. (Matt. 28:18-20)

We believe that God wonderfully, and immutably creates each person as male or female at birth. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. The clear teaching of Scripture and God's design for a person's gender is expressed in the following biblical passages. (Gen. 1:26-27; Deut. 22:5; Rom. 1:24-27; Rom 12:2; I Cor. 6:9-20; I Thess. 4:3-8; I Tim 4:12)

We believe that God designed and ordained marriage to be the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen. 2:18-25); that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). The clear teaching of Scripture and God's design for marriage and sexual relations are expressed in the following biblical passages. (Ex. 22:19; Lev. 20:10, 13; Rom. 1:25-27; I Cor. 6:9-10)

We believe that human life is of inestimable worth and should be valued, defended, and protected from conception. (Gen. 9:6; Ps. 139)
