Summary
Founded in 1975, Care Net is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers women and men considering abortion to choose life for their unborn children and find abundant life in Christ.
Since 2008, Care Net has put our mission and vision into practice and saved more than 940,000 babies from abortion and shared the Gospel with over 2 million parents by:
Supporting one of the largest networks of pregnancy centers in North America. With more than 1,200 affiliates and 30,000 volunteers, we provide immediate support to women and men considering abortion so they can choose life. Last year alone, our pregnancy centers provided clients with more than $62 million in free services.
Operating the Pregnancy Decision Line, America's only real-time call center providing pregnancy decision coaching to parents considering abortion. Many callers are only days away from an abortion.
Bringing more churches into vibrant Pro Abundant Life ministry. We train churches to provide the long-term discipleship and support that pregnancy center clients need, building effective bridges between local pregnancy centers and churches so that these women and men don't face another crisis pregnancy in the future.
Equipping pro-life people to save babies from abortion. With more than a dozen free resources including three free online courses, a 40-day devotional, eBooks, and cutting-edge research, we've equipped more than 50,000 pro-life people to better intercede for the babies at risk.

Purpose
Care Net envisions a culture where women and men faced with pregnancy decisions are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and empowered to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families.
Mission statement
Acknowledging that every human life begins at conception and is worthy of protection, Care Net offers compassion, hope, and help to anyone considering abortion by presenting them with realistic alternatives and Christ-centered support through our life-affirming network of pregnancy centers, churches, organizations, and individuals.
Statement of faith
Care Net uses the following to express its Statement of Faith (adopted from the National Association of Evangelicals):
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

History
Care Net was founded in 1975 as the Christian Action Council by the renowned Dr. Harold O. J. Brown. Care Net's beginnings were influenced by former U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. C. Everett Koop and Christian scholar, Dr. Francis Schaeffer.
From its earliest days, Care Net has sought to engage faithful men and women in promoting life-affirming decisions. That engagement has taken many forms.
In the 1980s, the organization's mission crystallized into establishing pregnancy centers and equipping them to empower women to make life-affirming decisions in response to an unplanned pregnancy. The organization subsequently adopted the name "Care Net".
Today, Care Net is an expansive network, advocating for 1,100 independent, affiliated pregnancy centers across North America, as well as operating Pregnancy Decision Line to reach women and men at their point of need.
Care Net works to end abortion, not primarily through political action but by building a culture where woman and men receive all the support they need to welcome their children and create their own success stories. We call this approach to abortion the Pro Abundant Life Movement. As pro abundant life people, we embrace Christ, marriage, fatherhood, and work to overturn Roe v Wade in hearts, not just the courts. By empowering women and men to make courageous, life-affirming choices, Care Net and our affiliate pregnancy centers save lives every single day. During the last eight years, Care Net has saved more than 531,977 unborn lives through this life-affirming work.
In 2015, Care Net conducted groundbreaking research into abortion and the church that discovered four out of ten women who had an abortion were actively attending church at the time of their abortion. This means the church funds the abortion industry to the tune of more than $180 million a year. In response to this crisis, Care Net created the first ever curriculum designed to provide churches with a ministry on-ramp for the abortion vulnerable women and men in their congregations as well as post-abortion ministry and healing. Making Life Disciples helps churches overturn Roe v Wade in their pews so that they can successfully overturn it in their communities.
Even if the legal status of abortion changes, there will always be a need for faithful men and women to support those facing pregnancy decisions. No court can outlaw unplanned pregnancy. You can be part of the long-term solution to abortion, starting now, by supporting Care Net.
