Purpose

From Kindergarten to Graduation

Every step of the way we are preparing your student to be Ready for More.

Your child's very first day of school is more than the launch of his/her academic learning; it is a significant start toward becoming the person God has called them to be. From the time they step foot on campus, we join with you in shaping these young lives into men and women who:

Follow Christ

Recognizing God's sovereignty, Asheville Christian graduates desire to fulfill His call on all facets of their lives. They seek to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

Learn Intentionally

Acknowledging that all truth is God's truth, Asheville Christian graduates understand that growing in wisdom is the result of lifelong engagement in God's world. Inherent to being God's image-bearers is the continual uncovering of beauty and complexity in creation to redeem our fallen world.

Restore Culture

In order to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) by spreading the Gospel in all of its fullness, Asheville Christian graduates evaluate ways in which people are consciously, and unconsciously, catechized by the world.

Communicate Effectively

Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are important for navigating the future and modeling a Christian life (I Timothy 4:12). Graduates also demonstrate competence in understanding the communication relevant to all disciplines and in daily life.

Serve and Lead

Loving others well necessitates strength in humility. Because leadership and servant heartedness are inextricably linked, Asheville Christian graduates use experience, knowledge, and wisdom to be salt and light for His kingdom.

Mission statement

Seeking to serve Jesus Christ and uphold His Pre-eminence, Asheville Christian Academy, in committed partnership with Christian parents, provides a Gospel-centered education to shepherd and inspire Christ-oriented lives within a community of grace and truth.

Statement of faith

As a parent, you can be assured that Asheville Christian holds itself to a higher, different standards-God's. Everything we do is built on the foundation of God's Word and strengthened by more than two millennia of orthodox Christian belief and practice. This is what we believe:

The Bible is the Word of God, verbally inspired and inerrant as originally given, and is the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

God is Triune - one eternal God existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Man is created in His image. Creation and providence are revelatory of Him.

Christ is God manifested in the flesh, born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, suffered and died on our behalf; and He arose bodily from the grave, ascended, and is coming again in power and glory. Christ is the only mediator between God and man.

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely fundamental to Christian life and should be basic in all preparation for life. By God's grace only and through faith alone are our children, and we saved from sin and its evil consequences.

The present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to indwell the Christian, enabling him to live a godly life.

There will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

The spiritual unity of believers is in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Parents are responsible for the education of their children. To bring them up in the Lord, they, through the agency of a Board, employ teachers who give evidence of a born-again life and who manifest ability to educate children morally and intellectually in the light of God's Word.

The pupils, being images of God, must be subject to His sovereign rule in their lives. Creation and providence (that which is taught), being God-revealing, must be presented as such. Such teaching makes for God-consciousness without which no Christian teaching is possible.

The doctrines stated in the first nine sections of Article II are essential and indisputable. Some other doctrines have been debated by evangelical Christians over the centuries. It is the school's policy that students not be deprived of robust examination of any Biblical text, but it is always to be done with respectful consideration of the various historical interpretations. Additionally, a student raising a question concerning such a doctrine should be referred to his or her parents or pastor.

History

History taken from Wikipedia:

"The school was founded in 1958[8] as Asheville Christian Day School, meeting at First Alliance Church. In 1972, it merged with Blue Ridge Christian Academy, under the new name Asheville Christian Academy. The school occupied a campus on Bell Road in the Haw Creek community of Asheville, until the current campus was established in 2003. Grades 10-12 were added in 1988. In 2012 graduating ACA seniors were accepted at more than 70 four-year universities and colleges. It also operates jointly with the local Asheville Buncombe Tech Community College and Montreat College in a dual enrollment program for juniors and seniors to gain college credit as part of their high school graduation requirements. In 2014 ACA was ranked in the top 50 Christian high schools in the United States.[9]"
