Purpose
We believe education is more than a transmission of facts-it is a sacred partnership with the home and the church. We equip our students with the academic rigor and spiritual depth necessary to influence the culture and lead a World Transformed for Christ.
Mission statement
to be a community Christian school assisting families through excellent academics, arts, and athletics from a Biblical worldview within a nurturing environment so that all students might reach their God-given potential.
Statement of faith
The Triune God: We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. - Matthew 28:19
The Holy Scriptures: We believe the Holy Scriptures are verbally inspired of God and serve as our only infallible rule of faith and practice.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. - 2 Timothy 3:16
The Work of Christ: We believe Jesus Christ died, shedding His blood for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead for our justification.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
His Glorious Return: We believe He will return visibly and bodily with power and great glory at the time of His choosing.
This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. - Acts 1:11
The Need for Salvation: We believe man is a sinner by nature and practice, separated from God. One can become God's child only through faith in Jesus Christ and submission to His will as revealed in the Gospel.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. - Romans 3:23-24
Eternal Destiny: We believe those born into God's family have eternal life. Those who are not remain in spiritual death and will be separated from God forever.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36
The Indwelling Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit lives within the believer, enabling a life of purity and submission to God's will.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? - 1 Corinthians 6:19
Spiritual Unity: We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism. - Ephesians 4:4-5
We believe that God's design for human identity and relationships is perfect and purposeful. As a trusted partner to Christian families, ACS upholds the following biblical standards:
Created in His Image: God created male and female as two distinct, complementary genders that together reflect His nature. We believe God immutably creates each person as either male or female at conception (Genesis 1:26-27).
Biological Integrity: We recognize a person's biological sex as a gift from God, as each of us are wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Therefore, we refer to all students and faculty by the pronouns associated with their biological gender. At ACS, efforts to deny or adopt a gender other than one's biological birth gender are impermissible because it rejects the image of God within that person.
The Covenant of Marriage: Marriage is the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive, lifelong union as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). It is a life-long, exclusive relationship between only one biological man and one biological woman.
Sanctity of Intimacy: We believe God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a biological man and woman who are married to each other. All intimate activity outside this exclusive marriage relationship is contrary to God's purpose (Romans 1:18-31, 1 Corinthians 6:17, 7:2-5).
While we stand firm on biblical holiness, we are a community anchored in grace and compassion.
A Path to Restoration: We believe God offers full redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21, Romans 10:9-10, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Dignity and Respect: Every person-regardless of their struggle-is to be afforded compassion, love, kindness, and respect (I Corinthians 12:1-8, John 13:34-35, and Mark 12:28-31). Hateful or harassing behavior is strictly repudiated and is not in accord with the philosophy of Alamance Christian School. We, however, will teach the plain truth of God's Word in love.
