Statement of faith
Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Snowbird's faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Executive Team is Snowbird's final interpretive authority on the Bible's meaning and application.
Bible
The Bible is the Word of God, written by men, divinely inspired of God and is sufficient for salvation, for trusting him completely, and for obeying him faithfully.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:5-6; Psalm 119; 1 Peter 2:1-3
God
God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, and there is one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 20-21
Man
Man, created in the image and likeness of God, fell into the bondage of sin through the temptation of Satan. Now, because of the inherited sin nature handed down to all of mankind because of Adam's sin, human beings are spiritually dead and in need of a Savior.
Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 5:1-2; Genesis 3; Romans 3:9-19; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-2
Salvation
The salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through the atonement of our sins by Jesus Christ, who by the Holy Spirit was born of the virgin Mary and took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, fully God and fully man.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 2:17; 4:15; Luke 1:26- 37; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21; 1 Peter 2: 22-25
The blessings of salvation are offered freely to all who by repenting put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. Salvation is impossible apart from Jesus Christ. All true believers endure to the end by the power of God.
Matthew 10:22; John 1:11-14; 3:16, 36; 10:27-29 Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:31; Romans 3:23-25; 10:9-10; Acts 20:21; 2 Corinthians 7:9-10; Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 3:14; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 John 1:9
Jesus
The Lord Jesus Christ, who was resurrected from the tomb and ascended into Heaven, will visibly and powerfully return to earth in power and glory. After this there will be a final judgment for all mankind, the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal punishment.
Matthew 25:31-46; 28:5-7; John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Acts 1:7-11; Revelation 1:7; 20:11-15
Statement on Sanctify of Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.
Psalm 139
Statement on Marriage, Gender & Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one's biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe that the term "marriage" has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters as the local Body of Christ and to provide a biblical role model to Snowbird members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Snowbird in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters.

History
Brody Holloway first shared the vision of Snowbird with his father-in-law Steve Coleman in 1995, while working in camp ministry in central Virginia. As the vision developed, the Colemans and Holloways committed to develop a high-adventure student camp focused on making disciples through personal relationships, in a ministry that would be grounded on the authority of Scripture. Preparations began on family land near the base of the Snowbird Mountains in Andrews, N.C., and Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters was created.
2021 - Main Campus Expanded
God provided even greater property growth in 2021, by enabling us to purchase a 37-acre section of land adjacent to our original Main Campus. Our board of directors is in the prayer planning stage right now. This flat pasture area will provide plenty of room for future growth. And, we plead with you to join us in prayer for how this property can be best used to partner with more churches-to make disciples that impact this generation.
2020 - Snowbird North Campus
In 2020 Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters purchased an additional property three miles from the main campus where development is underway for an expanded worship facility, recreation, and housing. The Lord continues to grow the ministry of Snowbird and by His grace we will continue to make disciples through preaching the Bible expositionally and building personal relationships.
1998 - First Year of Students
During its first year of operation in 1998, Snowbird offered a 50-person capacity in its three housing facilities and had nearly 200 junior high and high school students visit its campus.
The following year, Snowbird offered its first seven weeks of summer camp and six retreat weekends with a staff of six. Camp attendance advanced to more than 600 students that year. The next several years brought about many additional facility and recreational changes, including Snowbird's first kitchen, bathhouses, additional housing, the 3-Man Swing and a variety of other recreation options.
As Snowbird developed, the organization's leaders established specific ministry programs to meet the ever-growing needs of churches.
Over the years, Snowbird has grown from a 50-person to a 550-person housing capacity. Its year-round discipleship weekends and 11 weeks of summer camp serve nearly 11,000 annually. Snowbird now operates with a 50-member year-round staff, Including the Snowbird Institute - a year-round program created to equip college-aged students to become more mature disciples of Christ and advance the spread of the Gospel to the nations. During the summer season, Snowbird hires an additional 120 college-aged adults to serve as small group leaders and recreational staff, as well as nearly 20 high school students to train under the Servant Team program
