Mission statement

We believe the mission of the church matters. Everything we do at RightNow Media is rooted in Jesus's promise that God will use his people to change the world.

Statement of faith

RightNow Ministries operates under the grace of Almighty God. We serve local churches that represent diverse traditions and denominational affiliations. Our desire is to work in harmony on the basis of the essential doctrines listed below.

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, both fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as the sacrificial substitute to pay for the penalty of sin, physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and He will one day physically return.

God created man and woman in His perfect image with equality across lines of ethnicity, gender, and class.

All humanity, Christ excluded, is sinful by both birth and action.

The deserved penalty for sin is physical and spiritual death.

Salvation from sin comes only as gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin.

Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected to their final judgment before God. Those who, in their earthly life, turned from sin and to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to eternal reward. Those who did not turn from sin and to Jesus will be raised to eternal punishment.

History

"It was the summer of 1998 and I had just spent the past four weeks filming a documentary about a missionary team living in a remote part of Africa in the country of Tanzania.

It was my first time overseas and I loved it.

During the flight home I remember praying, "God how can I do more of that? I want my life to count and I want to do something significant for you."

In my young, naive mind the best way to have an impact for Christ was to be a pastor or missionary or to be involved in some sort of full-time ministry work. Eventually my view of "ministry" would grow beyond the typical pastor or missionary role. Where we live doesn't make us missionaries. The mission we are on makes us missionaries. For those who follow Jesus, we have a mission to love God and love others in whatever career, home, and neighborhood God has placed us.

As I searched for ministry opportunities, I realized many Christians wanted to serve God in significant ways but were often unsure how. I asked God to use my life and the ministry I was involved in to inspire people to do something significant for him right now.

RightNow started in 2000 as part of a media company called Bluefish TV-a ministry that had been creating video resources for the church since 1977. At first RightNow's main priority was to connect young adults to short and long term mission opportunities in countries around the world. Over time we began to realize the importance of working with churches to help them mobilize Christians to live out their faith-not just overseas but everywhere, every day. Eventually we combined the media creativity of Bluefish TV and RightNow's passion for helping people put their faith in action, and RightNow Media was born.

RightNow Media's mission is to work with the global church to inspire people to love others before self and Christ above all.

I love working with our passionate team at RightNow Media to serve the global church. All that we create-video Bible studies, events, our streaming platform-exists to help people realize their God-given purpose of serving and loving others in a world that's primarily concerned with selfish pursuits.

We root everything we do in the belief that the church-God's people-can have a powerful impact on this world. We firmly believe the mission of the church matters."
