Summary
Family Legacy is a faith-based, Christian, God-led organization that exists to glorify God by empowering vulnerable children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential. We do this by engaging more than 10,000 individuals and families from around the world with God's heart for these children, face-to-face and heart-to-heart, through the power of God's word, quality education and residential care. With almost 14,000 Zambian children attending one of our private Christian Legacy Academy schools, Family Legacy is not an orphanage or a missionary organization or an economic development organization. We are a unique NGO focused on caring for orphaned and vulnerable/at-risk Zambian children on a variety of levels.

Purpose
During a visit to South Africa in 1960 and having traveled through the British colonized nations in Africa, British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan gave a speech that set forth a ripple effect of independence throughout much of Africa. He prophetically said: "The wind of change is blowing through this continent" because he saw that all people succeed when the nation itself rises from within. At Family Legacy, we believe the winds of change are still blowing, evoked by the Holy Spirit and made possible through education for all. We believe that when you educate a child you change the world. Whether that education lasts for years or days, it stays. No one can take it away. Empowering these children is God's work; we are simply striving to be His hands and feet to encourage the wind to blow.
Mission statement
Family Legacy is a faith-based, Christian, God-led organization that exists to glorify God by empowering vulnerable children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential.
Statement of faith
Who we are and what we believe is the catalyst for our ministry. The way we operate is grounded completely in our love for Jesus Christ and serving His children in Zambia.
GOD
We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons -the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections.
JESUS
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption and propitiation of sin, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells Believers, enabling them to live Godly lives.
BIBLE
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Scriptures. The whole Bible, in the original manuscripts, is inerrant. As the revelation of God, we believe the Bible to be the sole authority and sufficiency with regard to Christian faith and practice.
MAN
We believe that man was perfectly and originally created in the image of God. Adam and Eve fell through sin, and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life and was separated from God. This spiritual death has been transmitted to the entire human race of man since birth. Thus, every person is born into the world with a sinful nature apart from saving grace.
SALVATION
We believe that, due to universal death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born again. Our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. We believe that the new birth of the Believer comes only through faith in Christ. No other acts, such as confession, baptism, prayer, faithful service, or manifestation of certain spiritual gifts, are to be added to believing as a condition of salvation.

Needs
When you choose to sponsor a child, you are making a direct and immediate impact on his or her life. Plus, the long term impact is immeasurable. Not only did you feed and clothe His children in need, but you told a child - I see you and you matter. Their gratitude is immense, their potential is unlimited and the impact on your heart will be profound.
Sponsorship alone does not cover the cost to support the nearly 15,000 children we serve. Medical services, emergency care, expanded curriculum and more is needed to give our children the care they deserve. Giving through the Nehemiah Partnership accelerates our ability to operate exactly when and where we need it.
As a Christ-centered Ministry, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of financial transparency by being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us. Whether through sponsorship, Nehemiah Partnership, or through another avenue of giving, you can be confident that we are properly stewarding your donation.
