Statement of faith
We Believe In...
1. The divine inspiration of the Bible; that it is inerrant in the original writings, and is of supreme and final authority in faith and practice.
2. One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. The creation of man in the divine image, man's subsequent fall through sin, resulting in universal guilt and total depravity; and the necessity, therefore, of redemption and restoration.
4. The deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, perfect life, redeeming death, bodily resurrection, heavenly intercession, and His personal return.
5. The personality of the Holy Spirit by Whose regenerative work sinful man is born again, and by Whose indwelling regenerate man is enabled to live a godly life.
6. The bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
7. The spiritual unity of all believers as comprising the true Church, which has the duty to preach the Gospel to every creature.

Response from ministry
For 75 years, Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has been providing access to the gospel and assistance for human needs to the most isolated people around the world. This work is done through the generous donations of many, and strong stewardship within the organization.
It is disappointing to have received a transparency rating of "C" based on the fact that we are not required to file a 990 form with the IRS. A Form 990 for MAF is available upon request, but is not filed with the IRS since we are designated as a church, which precludes a requirement to file. We know that donors value transparency, which is why we created a Form 990 as well as having our financial statements independently audited. We are also a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
The 990 forms for MAF were sent to MinistryWatch and information such as the president's salary and other compensation was included.
It is MAF's belief that by completing a Form 990 and making it available upon request meets the transparency and accountability requirements required for an "A" grade.
It is also important to note that publishing MAF's 990 forms on the internet would jeopardize our operations in some areas we serve. MAF has a subsidiary organization that serves in restricted access countries and publishing the Form 990 on a website could place our people and operations in jeopardy by those opposed to the gospel. Again, all of our Form 990s are available upon request, but we are not required by the IRS to file the forms with them.
MAF will continue to assist mission organizations and the people we serve with subsidized services, providing them help, hope, and healing at the ends of the earth.

History
After World War II, a few veteran pilots in the US and UK dreamed of a way they could use their flying skills to reach isolated people with the gospel. They founded MAF a few years later, and for 75 years now men and women have been using aviation to share Christ's love in the most remote places on earth. Learn more about our history!
