Summary
In 1937 Pastor J.L. Tucker began airing a devotional radio program called 'The Quiet Hour' on station KEX in Portland, Oregon. Today Quiet Hour Ministries is a worldwide evangelism ministry that has reached more than 188 countries.
Volunteer-based evangelism is the key focus of Quiet Hour Ministries. We want people all around the world to experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ. And we need you to help tell them!
Every year we send hundreds of volunteer team members on evangelism mission trips. They present evangelistic meetings, lead children's programs, offer basic care at free health clinics, make home or hospital visits and build churches, schools and orphanages.

History
The Quiet Hour radio ministry Pastor J.L. Tucker established in 1937 has grown beyond his greatest dreams! It was his hope that thousands of people across North America would turn on their radios and hear a program of songs, poetry, and words of inspiration that would bring them into a closer walk with God. Never did he imagine that this young ministry would eventually touch the lives of people around the world!
Over the years friends of The Quiet Hour have helped hundreds of pastors and Christian workers carry the gospel to people in almost 100 countries. More than one million Bibles have been distributed in scores of languages; hundreds of vehicles including airplanes, boats, motorcycles, jeeps, tractors, vans, minibuses, and bicycles have been donated; 3200 churches and jungle chapels have been constructed in needy areas of the world. Each year the organization helps send more than 200 evangelism teams annually to regions of the world with few Christian believers, and their radio and television programs are broadcast in many parts of the world.
The Quiet Hour is involved in many other ministry outreaches and mission projects. As a nonprofit organization they depend upon the help of our listeners, viewers, readers, and friends to carry forward this work.
Program accomplishments
Our combined outreach touches the lives of more 200,000 people every year in countries around the world, resulting in many thousands accepting Christ!
